Laser Toner

The toner is mostly used in photocopiers, laser printers, color laser printer and laserfaxes. In its early form, the toner was only carbon powder but later the carbon particles were mixed with polymer particles to imporove the quality of the printout. The size of the particles in toner is about 12 micrometer but the article dimension was reduced to 8 micrometers to reach 600 dpi print resolution.

In earlier machines toner was shaken from a bottle into a receptacle in the machine. Modern machines use disposable cartridges. The empty cartridges are often refilled by third party vendors, but these refilled toner are not recommendable for professionel use. For color laser printers, there are cartridges for each color. This helps saving money, because you only need to change the empty color.

If you get toner on your hands, you only should wash it off with cold water cause hot water will open the pores and be sure to wash it off with cold water. Hot water will open the pores and stain your hands. For more questions it is recommendable to call the producer directly, because they can tell ou exactly what to do.

Toner are often used by professional industries who need to print a lot of letters (for exmaple advertising companies). The advantage is the quckickness and the quality.
